A 92 to 8 vote by the U.S. Senate in favor of creating a carbon-credit certification program showed just how strong the support is for reduced emission efforts. The USDA-sponsored program will help establish protocols of carbon sequestration and provide farmers and ranchers with set-up guidance, payout incentives and more. The bill included $4 million in startup funds for the USDA and created an advisory committee of actual farmers and ranchers. Read more about the benefits of the program.
