Aerial view of corn harvestCorn and soybean harvest progress continues to move ahead by double digits according to the latest USDA Crop Progress report. The push forward comes after most of the Corn and Soy Belt enjoyed dry conditions most of October. Corn pushed ahead by 14 points from the previous week, coming in at 66% complete, 13 points ahead of the five-year average and 4 points behind last year’s progress. Soybean harvest also moved swiftly ahead last week, jumping ahead 13 percentage points to 73% finished, 9 points behind last year and 3 points ahead of the five-year average. Minnesota is leading the way on soybean production, nearing completion at 95%, followed by Iowa at 83% and Illinois at 68%.
