Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are in good shipping shape this summer, despite early unfavorable weather across the prime berry-producing regions in the Southeast and Pacific Northwest. Several freeze events reduced the blueberry crop, and fluctuating temperatures in California impacted the strawberries and blueberries.
Despite the average berry size being smaller than in previous years due to the adverse conditions, the crops should be plentiful and high-quality this summer. Raspberries and blackberries should show similar prices as last year for consumers, though anxiety about inflation is impacting berry producers globally.
