A new sustainability insights study conducted by The Packer found that nearly half of the farmer responses indicated they are concerned with having sufficient access to water. The results of this question included the following responses:
>> 28% Extremely concerned
>> 20%: Very concerned
>> 16% Not at all concerned
When asked in what ways farmers are conserving water, 39% responded they are using drip irrigation, with 35% noting they are diversifying their crops. Only 12% reported engaging their policymakers and leaders for help, leaving an opportunity for more farmers to make their voices heard. 26% believe the lack of water availability is impacting their business today, with another 15% noting they expect to feel effects within one year.
