Corn field at sunsetThe latest crop progress and conditions report showed that 64% of U.S. corn and 62% of soybeans are rated good to excellent, holding steady from the previous week despite a mix of unpredictable weather throughout the Midwest and Great Plains. USDA reports that 15% of corn is silking, compared to the five-year average of 25% and 32% of soybeans are blooming, compared to 38% on average for this point in the year.

Meanwhile, despite perilously dry conditions and storms throughout the Great Plains, 63% of U.S. winter wheat is harvested, compared to 61% typically, and 70% is rated good to excellent compared to 77% on average.
