Snow storm in rural AmericaAn active winter weather system is moving through the United States this week in waves. Predicted to continue through February 24, the system is expected to deliver a variety of conditions as it works its way across the country.

Starting in the Pacific Northwest, the weather will push east. Thunderstorms are expected as the second part of the system arrives in the Midwest, some of which may be severe.

Precipitation will come in freezing rain and heavy snow, currently predicted to stretch from central Iowa to the east coast. The last part of the system is anticipated to push cold temperatures and heavy snow from Colorado and Wyoming to the Northeast. High winds could create blizzard conditions in some locations. Some areas in the Northeast may see up to two feet of snow.
