Of the many socioeconomic changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic, one that has more or less flown under the radar is its impact on farmland sales. Online farmland auctions are becoming increasingly prevalent and real estate agents are embracing “Zillow-like” strategies to promote property for sale. In addition to the investors and farmers who traditionally compete for ground, “city dwellers” looking for wide-open spaces have joined the land hunt.
