Soybean field with white house in the distanceFor the fifth year, National Ag Day has been publicly recognized by the White House as a day to highlight the contributions of farmers and ranchers around the nation. It’s been an especially challenging year for the ag sector, and Tuesday is seen by National Ag Day organizers at the Agriculture Council of America (ACA) as a day to not only celebrate agriculture’s impacts on society, but also inform consumers and others about the importance of the sector of the economy and the men, women and families it supports. As part of that effort, ACA and others have organized a set of events starting with a morning webinar featuring Governor Laura Kelly of Kansas and Governor Mike Parson of Missouri, during which they’ll highlight all the day’s activities, share tributes to agriculture and feature young and beginning farmers.
