In recent Farm Bill discussions across the Midwest, the U.S. House Agriculture Committee asks farmers what they would like to see in the next bill. The most common theme heard from Ohio to Minnesota is that farmers want crop insurance protected.
The Corn Growers Associations in Minnesota, Ohio and the National organization all listed crop insurance as the top priority in the next Farm Bill, as did the Wheat Growers Association. Citing crop insurance as the cornerstone of the farm safety net, America’s farmers have made it clear the risk-management tool has been an invaluable help to farmers across the country.
