The 2025 U.S. sugarbeet harvest began strong nationwide. The early harvest was largely complete by early October, and the full harvest is underway or awaiting cooler weather. Favorable growing conditions have yielded promising results and a solid sugar content across multiple cooperatives.

Amalgamated Sugar reported record-setting yields in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It is projected to be one of the highest-yielding crops in cooperative history. American Crystal Sugar began its earliest-ever harvest on August 12. It has completed 18% of its 400,000-acre crop. However, heat has slowed progress and slightly reduced sugar content. The crop is expected to improve as cooler conditions arrive.

Michigan Sugar growers have harvested about 15% of their crop. Reports suggest high sugar recovery but below-average yields due to leaf spot, aphids and dry conditions. Minn-Dak and Southern Minnesota cooperatives both faced heavy rainfall and disease pressure. They anticipate near-average yields as cooler weather improves sugar levels.

Western Sugar reported a strong early harvest. This included record factory throughput and a sugar content averaging over 16% across Colorado, Nebraska, Montana and Wyoming. Wyoming Sugar growers also reported above-average sugar content, despite limited digging hours due to high early-October temperatures. Overall, harvest progress and sugar quality remain encouraging nationwide.
