The USDA weekly export report offered an insightful look at the strong results for last year’s corn and soybean sales. For the week ending July 1, cumulative totals for the 2020/21 corn marketing year are trending towards 2.310 billion bushels — 900 million bushels higher than last year’s pace. This was aided by the 6.8 million bushels of old crop and 7.8 bushels in new corn crop sales for the week. The 2020/21 totals for soybeans came in at around 2.149 billion bushels (800 million bushels more than last year), aided by 2.3 million bushels of old crop and 4.4 million bushels of new crop.
