USDA announced this past Friday a $633 million investment to reduce the impacts of climate change on rural communities. With the passage of the bipartisan infrastructure law as part of the Build Back Better plan, the Biden Administration has made investment in rural communities, creating good-paying jobs and combatting the climate crisis top priorities. U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack made the announcement with details of 791 investments USDA is making that are targeted to helping business and people in rural areas, in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Many of the dollars will be invested in renewable energy organizations and programs including solar, electric, renewable fuels and other energy efficiency improvements.
