On November 15, 2022, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced $24 million in grants for organizations helping prepare the next generation of farmers and ranchers. This round of funding will be distributed to 45 programs across the nation through the National Institute of Food and Ag’s Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program.
The organizations receiving funds intend to reach those with less than ten years of agricultural experience, many representing low-income, underrepresented or veteran farmers and ranchers. Program offerings vary by organization but may include training, financial support or other resources for operations.
