An important headline for the dairy industry, an additional $350 million in pandemic assistance is on the way for dairy farmers, says the USDA. The new Pandemic Market Volatility Assistance Program will provide payments to producers who received reduced market values for dairy products due to pandemic market abnormalities. Qualified farmers can receive reimbursement payments of up to 80% of the revenue difference per month based on fluid milk sales from July through December 2020 and annual production rates of up to 5 million pounds of milk. Additional program details are available via the AMS Dairy Program website. Read the full program annoucement.
